Kathryn M. (Kathy) Kovaric is an active educator and rug hooking instructor in Vail, Arizona. Kathy began her rug hooking journey over forty years ago in San Antonio, Texas and has been rug hooking ever since. She is a member of The National Guild of Pearl K. McGown Rug Hookrafters and ATHA.

Kathy works primarily in narrow cuts and fine shading but has developed hooked pieces in all cuts as well as a variety of materials. This is Kathy's version of an adaption of Sunflower, a Jane McGown Flynn design.

Kathy's patterns were developed shortly after she relocated to Arizona to offer starter kits using recycled wool, to keep costs down for beginning students.

One of Kathy's beginner designs, Got Wool? allows new rug hookers to quickly create a rug, while still learning the technique.
