Fraser cutters are built to last—but even the best tools benefit from periodic inspection, adjustment, and maintenance. Our Fraser Cutter Repair & Maintenance Service is designed to keep your cutter safe, smooth, and producing consistent strips for years to come.

Whether your cutter needs a tune-up, repair, or replacement parts, we’ll evaluate it carefully and recommend only what’s truly needed.

How the service works

1. Submit a Repair Request
   Start by purchasing the Repair & Maintenance Service. This covers intake, inspection, cleaning, adjustment, and evaluation.

2. Ship Your Cutter to Us
   You’ll send your cutter to our shop using your preferred carrier. We recommend packing carefully and insuring the shipment. Include the order number and your name and at least one cutter head (or more if they are not cutting).  Cutters can be mailed to:

3. Evaluation & Service
   We inspect the cutter for wear, alignment, tension, and overall function.

   • Basic maintenance and adjustments are included

   • If parts are needed, we’ll contact you before proceeding

4. Approval & Return
   Once approved, we complete the work and return your cutter ready to use.

What’s included

• Initial inspection and functional evaluation

• Cleaning and basic adjustments

• Assessment of cutter head fit and tension

• Identification of worn or damaged parts

• Written explanation of any recommended repairs

Parts & additional repairs

Some cutters may require replacement parts due to age, wear, or previous repairs. If parts are needed:

• We’ll provide a clear explanation and cost before installing anything

• You only pay for parts you approve

• No surprise charges

We aim to keep repairs practical, affordable, and appropriate for the age and use of your cutter.

What this service is 

This service is ideal for:

• Cutters that aren’t cutting evenly

• Stiff or inconsistent operation

• General tune-ups and preventative maintenance

• Evaluating older or inherited cutters

This service does not include:

• Cosmetic restoration

• Sharpening services for cutter heads (we will evaluate and recommend replacement cutter heads, using our ecologically friendly recycling program)

• Return shipping (quoted separately)

A note on head "reconditioning" vs. replacement

Rather than offering reconditioning services, we focus on replacement cutter heads when needed. This approach:

• Ensures consistent results

• Avoids metal fatigue and uneven edges

• Reduces long-term maintenance issues

If a cutter head needs replacement, we’ll advise you on the best option.

Important information

• Customers are responsible for shipping the cutter and at least one head to us

• Return shipping will be invoiced once work is complete

• Typical turnaround times depend on workload and parts availability

• We’ll always contact you before performing billable repairs
