As well as being a talented designer, Edna was an innovative teacher and a certified McGown Rug Hooking Instructor. She taught rug hooking in New England and along the East Coast. One of her student's hooked a rug, adapted by Edna, of the Presidential Seal that was presented to President John F. Kennedy. Edna's version of "The Great Seal," is the crown jewel of her collection, measuring in at almost seven feet round, it is one of the largest rugs in our total collection. For the less ambitious among us, there is a smaller version measuring slightly more than 5 feet round. The collection has a total of 31 patterns in it, including geometrics, florals, pictorials and crewels.
